What Determines Printed Packaging Film Roll Prices in Syria?

2026-10-25 · 4 min read

The price of printed packaging film rolls depends on the order specification, not just the product name or total order weight. Two quotations may differ because they assume different materials, film widths or delivery arrangements. Ask suppliers to put those assumptions in writing before comparing the figures.

This guide explains what to send when requesting printed rolls for a factory in Syria and what to check in the quotation. It does not provide a universal price or guaranteed saving: a useful quotation needs the product, film structure, artwork and planned quantity.

1. Order quantity and the split between designs

State the total quantity and the amount for each artwork or product version. Three tonnes of one design is not necessarily equivalent to three tonnes split between several designs and sizes. Confirm how each production run is treated rather than assuming that combined quantities meet every design's order requirements.

For repeat supply, explain the approximate demand, batch size and requested delivery dates. The team can then discuss production and pricing against that brief. Annual demand alone does not establish a price for a much smaller individual batch.

2. Materials, layer structure and thickness

Describing the roll as clear, glossy or metallized is not a complete specification. Discuss the materials, layer structure, thickness and protection and sealing requirements for the product. If you do not have a specification, send a current roll sample, explain filling and storage conditions, and ask for the proposed structure to be recorded in the quotation.

The flexible packaging film guide explains material roles. Differences in structure or thickness make a headline price comparison insufficient.

3. Film width, pack dimensions and pricing unit

Provide film width, print repeat and pack dimensions where available. When rolls are purchased by weight, dimensions, thickness and structure affect the expected number of packs. Ask how the calculation is made rather than treating a tonne as a fixed number of bags.

Compare quotations using the same unit and check that the specification fits your line. If the packaging format is still undecided, read printed rollstock versus premade pouches before comparing prices for different products.

4. Artwork and print preparation

Send the artwork or describe its current status, the number of versions and required colour references. Ask whether print preparation and tooling are included, which charges apply to the first order and which may recur. For a reprint, confirm the approved artwork version and tooling status with the supplier.

Gravure or flexo should be considered against the actual job. Use the gravure and flexo comparison to prepare questions, then request quotations using the same artwork, material and quantity.

5. Delivery and what the price includes

Name the destination city and required date. Ask for the currency, quotation validity, payment terms and whether packing, transport and other applicable costs are included. Separate production lead time from transit time and establish what needs approval before work begins.

Rotostar's minimum roll order is three tonnes, with a typical production lead time of 20 days after artwork approval. Confirm quantity allocation and the delivery date in the quotation before placing the order.

What should you send for a useful quotation?

Prepare the product and fill weight, quantities by artwork, known film specifications, filling-machine type, artwork status and destination city. Include a current roll sample or photograph if available. The packaging quotation checklist brings the details together.

Review printed packaging film rolls and use the quotation route to contact the team. Coffee producers can also use the coffee packaging selection guide to clarify pack requirements before comparing proposals.
